His saying: "for what you used to say about Allah other than the truth," to the end of the verse.
7638 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Asbagh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Yahya narrated to us, 'Attab narrated to us from Khusayf from Miqsam from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: There are two verses regarding which the disbeliever is given glad tidings (ironically) at the time of his death: "And if you could see when the wrongdoers are in the agonies of death and the angels [are] stretching out their hands," up to His saying: "for what you used to say about Allah other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant." He said: So these are two verses regarding which the disbeliever is given glad tidings in the world.
His saying: "And you have certainly come to Us alone"
7639 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, 'Amr ibn al-Harith informed me that Ibn Abi Hilal narrated to him that he heard al-Qurazi saying: I recited to 'A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He: "And you have certainly come to Us alone as We created you the first time." 'A'ishah said: O Messenger of Allah, how shameful! Will men and women be gathered together, with some of them looking at the private parts of others? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "For every person among them that Day will be a matter adequate for him," they will not look at the women, nor will the women look at the men; they will be too occupied to notice one another.
His saying, Exalted is He: "as We created you the first time"
7640 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Abd Allah al-Tallas narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, Hilal ibn Khabbab narrated to us from Sa'id ibn Jubayr that he recited this verse: "And you have certainly come to Us alone as We created you the first time." He said: Like the day he was born; everything that was diminished from him since the day he was born is returned to him.
His saying: "and you have left behind you that which We bestowed upon you"
7641 - It was mentioned from Abu Dawud, from Abu Hurrah, from al-Hasan, he said: The son of Adam will be brought on the Day of Resurrection as if he were a sacrificial animal, and Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, will say to him: "Where is what you gathered?" He will say: O Lord, I gathered it and left it in its most abundant state. He will say: "Then where is what you sent ahead for your own soul?" He will not see that he has sent anything ahead. And he recited this verse: "And you have certainly come to Us alone as We created you the first time, and you have left behind you that which We bestowed upon you."
