7642 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Sudi regarding His saying: "and you have left behind you that which We bestowed upon you" of wealth and servants.
His saying: "behind your backs"
7643 - And with the same chain from al-Sudi regarding His saying: "behind your backs," he said: In the world.
His saying: "And We do not see with you your 'intercessors' whom you claimed were among you partners [of Allah]"
7644 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah mentioned it, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj, al-Hakam informed me from 'Ikrimah, he said: Al-Nadr said: "Al-Lat and al-'Uzza will intercede for me." Then it was revealed: "And you have certainly come to Us alone..." (to the end of the verse).
7645 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Sudi regarding His saying: "And We do not see with you your 'intercessors' whom you claimed were among you partners [of Allah]," he said: The polytheists used to claim that they were worshipping these gods because they were intercessors for them, interceding for them with Allah, and that these gods were partners to Allah—exalted is Allah far above what they say.
His saying: "[It has been] severed between you, and lost from you is what you used to claim."
[The First Aspect]
7646 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "[It has been] severed between you, and lost from you is what you used to claim," meaning the ties of kinship and the status.
7647 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Shibl narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih from Mujahid regarding His saying: "[It has been] severed between you." The "bayn" (severance/distance) refers to their connection in the world.
7648 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Sudi regarding His saying: "[It has been] severed between you," he says: That which was between you has been severed.
The Second Aspect:
7649 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Munib narrated to us, Abu Mu'adh narrated to us from 'Ubayd ibn Sulayman from al-Dahhak: "[It has been] severed between you," meaning what was between them and their gods.

٧٦٤٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الأَوْدِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: وَتَرَكْتُمْ مَا خَوَّلْنَاكُمْ مِنَ الْمَالِ وَالْخَدَمِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِكُمْ
٧٦٤٣ - وَبِهِ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِكُمْ قَالَ: فِي الدُّنْيَا.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا نَرَى مَعَكُمْ شُفَعَاءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِيكُمْ شُرَكَاءُ
٧٦٤٤ - ذَكَرَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَكَمُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ النَّضْرُ: سَوْفَ تَشْفَعُ لِيَ اللاتُ وَالْعُزَّى. فَنَزَلَتْ:
وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا فُرَادَى الآيَةَ.
٧٦٤٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: وَمَا نَرَى مَعَكُمْ شُفَعَاءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِيكُمْ شُرَكَاءُ قَالَ: فَإِنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ هَذِهِ الآلِهَةَ لأَنَّهُمْ شُفَعَاءُ لَهُمْ يَشْفَعُونَ لَهُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ هَذِهِ الآلِهَةَ شُرَكَاءُ لِلَّهِ، تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: لَقَدْ تَقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ وضل عنكم ما كنتم تزعمون

٧٦٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: قَوْلَهُ: لَقَدْ تَقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْكُمْ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ يَعْنِي الأَرْحَامَ، وَالْمَنْزِلَ.
٧٦٤٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ ثنا شِبْلٌ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١»
: قَوْلَهُ:
لَقَدْ تَقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ، وَالْبَيْنُ: تَوَاصُلُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا.
٧٦٤٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: لَقَدْ تَقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ يَقُولُ: تَقَطَّعَ مَا كَانَ بَيْنَكُمْ.

٧٦٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُنِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاذٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ: لَقَدْ تَقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ يَعْنِي ما كان بينهم وبين آلهتهم.
