Translation · EN

The saying of the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date stones."

7650 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed me in what he wrote to me, 'Ammi narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date stones," he says: He created the grain and the date stones.

7651 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us from Qatadah regarding His saying: "The cleaver of grain and date stones," he said: He cleaves the grain and the date stones for plants.

7652 - My father Sahl ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, Marwan narrated to us, Juwaybir narrated to us from al-Dahhak: "Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date stones," he said: The Creator of the grain and the date stones.

7653 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date stones," [meaning] the two halves that are within them.

The saying of the Almighty: "...grain and date stones."

7654 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Sudi regarding His saying: "The cleaver of grain and date stones," [meaning] cleaving the grain from the ear of corn, and regarding His saying: "and date stones," [meaning] cleaving the date stone from the palm tree.

The saying of the Almighty: "He brings the living out of the dead."

[The First Aspect]

7655 - My father narrated to us, Nu'aym ibn Hammad narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us from al-Zuhri from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah that Khalidah bint al-Aswad ibn 'Abd Yaghuth entered upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was with one of his wives. He said: "Who is this?" It was said: "One of your maternal aunts, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "My maternal aunts in this land are indeed strangers; so who is she?" It was said: "Khalidah bint al-Aswad ibn 'Abd Yaghuth." He said: "Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), He brings the living out of the dead."

7656 - Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Mus'ab al-Suri narrated to us in Mecca, Mu'ammal narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah and Sufyan al-Thawri narrated to us from Sulayman al-Taymi from Abu 'Uthman from Salman, he said: 'Umar said: "He brings the living out of the dead," [meaning] He brings out the believer from the disbeliever.
