7741 - Abu Muhammad said: My father—may Allah have mercy on him—mentioned from Hisham ibn 'Ubayd Allah that he said something similar.
His saying, the Almighty and Majestic: "But He perceives [all] vision"
7742 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi: regarding His saying: 'Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision,' he says: 'Nothing can see Him, and He sees all created beings.'
His saying: "And He is the Subtle"
7743 - My father narrated to us, Muqatil ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us from Abu Ja'far al-Razi from al-Rabi' ibn Anas from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: 'Subtle, Acquainted,' he said: 'Subtle in extracting them [the souls].'
His saying: "The Acquainted"
7744 - And through the same chain from Abu al-'Aliyah:
Regarding His saying: 'The Acquainted,' he said: 'Acquainted with their place.'
His saying, the Most High: "There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord"
7745 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding His saying: 'There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord,' he said: 'The enlightenment is guidance, the enlightenment of what is in their hearts regarding their religion, and it is not the enlightenment of the heads.' He then recited: 'For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts' (1), and he said: 'Religion is only its vision and its hearing within this heart.'
7746 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us from Sa'id from Qatadah: 'There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord,' meaning: clear evidence from your Lord, so whoever gains insight, it is for his own soul.
His saying, the Most High: "And I am not a guardian over you"
7747 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us from Ibn Ishaq: 'As a guardian [hafiz], meaning: a protector [hafid].'

٧٧٤١ - قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَذَكَرَ أَبِي- رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ- عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الأَبْصَارَ
٧٧٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الأَوْدِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الأَبْصَارُ، وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الأَبْصَارَ، يَقُولُ: لَا يَرَاهُ شَيْءٌ، وَهُوَ يَرَى الْخَلائِقَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ
٧٧٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُقَاتِلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيِّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ ابن أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ قال: لَطِيفٌ لاسْتِخْرَاجِهَا.
قَوْلُهُ: الْخَبِيرُ
٧٧٤٤ - وَبِهِ عن أبي العالية:
قوله: الخبير، قَالَ: خَبِيرٌ بِمَكَانِهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بَصَائِرُ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ
٧٧٤٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بَصَائِرُ من ربكم قَالَ: الْبَصَائِرُ الْهُدَى، بَصَائِرُ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ لِدِينِهِمْ، وَلَيْسَتْ بِبَصَائِرِ الرُّؤُوسِ، وَقَرَأَ: فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ «١» ، وَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا الدِّينُ بَصَرُهُ وَسَمْعُهُ فِي هَذَا الْقَلْبِ.
٧٧٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ ثنا يَزِيدُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بَصَائِرُ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ أَيْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَمَنْ أَبْصَرَ فَلِنَفْسِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا أَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ بِحَفِيظٍ
٧٧٤٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بِحَفِيظٍ أي: حافظ.
