His saying, Exalted is He: 'Then to their Lord is their return.'
7764 - Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah: regarding His saying: 'Then to their Lord is their return,' he said: They return to Him after life.
His saying, Exalted is He: 'And they swore by Allah.'
7765 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding the saying of Allah: 'And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths,' he said: It is an oath.
7766 - Abu Bujayr al-Muharibi narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahim ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Za'idah, he said: Sulayman al-A'mash recited, and he claimed that Yahya ibn Waththab recites: 'And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths,' and it is the swearing (al-half).
His saying: 'That if a sign came to them, they would believe in it.'
7767 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: regarding His saying: 'And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them, they would believe in it,' Quraysh asked Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to bring them a sign, and he sought their oaths that they would believe in it.
His saying: 'Say, "The signs are only with Allah," and what will make you perceive.'
7768 - And by the same chain, from Mujahid: regarding His saying: 'Say, "The signs are only with Allah," and what will make you perceive that it is when it comes, they will not believe,' he said: What will make you know.
His saying: 'That it is when it comes, they will not believe.'
7769 - And by the same chain, from Mujahid: regarding His saying: 'That it is when it comes, they will not believe,' then He rendered it obligatory upon them that they will not believe.
7770 - Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah al-Harawi narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Ibn Kathir informed me that he heard Mujahid, regarding His saying: 'And what will make you perceive that it is when it comes, they will not believe,' he said: What will make you know that you will believe when it comes to them? Then he began to inform, and said: It is only that when it comes, they will not believe.
