7778 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: 'In their transgression,' meaning: in their misguidance.
It was narrated from al-Suddi similar to the statement of Ibn 'Abbas, and Qatadah and al-Rabi' similar to the statement of Abu al-'Aliyah.

7779 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: 'Wandering blindly (ya'mahun),' he said: They persist (in it). It was narrated from al-Suddi similar to that.
The second interpretation:
7780 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: 'Wandering blindly,' he said: They are wavering in their disbelief.
It was narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah, Mujahid, Abu Malik, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similar to that.
The third interpretation:
7781 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-A'mash: regarding 'In their transgression wandering blindly,' he said: They are playing.
His saying, Exalted is He: 'And even if We had sent down to them the angels, and the dead had spoken to them'
7782 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle narrated to me, from his father, from 'Atiyyah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: 'And even if We had sent down to them the angels, and the dead had spoken to them, and We had gathered together against them every thing [face to face],' he says: If all of that were to confront them, they would not believe, unless Allah wills.
His saying: 'Face to face (qubulan)'
7783 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: 'And We had gathered together against them every thing face to face,' he says: Visibly/by direct observation.
His saying: 'They would not believe unless Allah wills,' the verse.
7784 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid:
٧٧٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ، يَعْنِي: فِي ضَلالَتِهِمْ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ نَحْوُ قَوْلِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَقَتَادَةَ وَالرَّبِيعِ نَحْوُ قَوْلِ أبي العالية.

٧٧٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ ابْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلَهُ: يَعْمَهُونَ، قَالَ: يَتَمَادَوْنَ. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

٧٧٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابُ أَنَا بِشْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلَهُ: يَعْمَهُونَ قَالَ: فِي كُفْرِهِمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ وَمُجَاهِدٍ وَأَبِي مَالِكٍ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.

٧٧٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ثنا سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ: فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ قَالَ: يَلْعَبُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا نَزَّلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ الْمَلائِكَةَ وَكَلَّمَهُمُ الْمَوْتَى
٧٧٨٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ: وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا نَزَّلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ الْمَلائِكَةَ وَكَلَّمَهُمُ الْمَوْتَى وَحَشَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ قُبُلا، يَقُولُ: لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلَهُمْ ذَلِكَ كُلُّهُ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا إِلا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ.

٧٧٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَحَشَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ قُبُلا، يَقُولُ: مُعَايَنَةً.
قَوْلُهُ: مَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا إِلا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ الآيَةَ.
٧٧٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ:
