His saying: 'They would not believe unless Allah wills, but most of them are ignorant,' he said: Quraysh asked Muhammad, peace be upon him, to bring them a sign, and they swore by Allah that they would believe in it.
7785 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: 'They would not believe,' for they are the people of wretchedness. Then he said: 'Unless Allah wills,' meaning they are the people of felicity, those for whom it has already been decreed in His knowledge that they would enter into faith.
His saying, Exalted is He: 'And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy – devils from mankind and jinn.'
7786 - Muhammad ibn 'Awf al-Himsi narrated to us, Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, Mu'an ibn Rifa'ah narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Yazid, from al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: 'O Abu Dharr, have you sought refuge with Allah from the devils of the jinn and mankind?' He said: 'O Prophet of Allah, do humans have devils?' He said: 'Yes, the devils of mankind and jinn inspire one another with adorned speech as a deception.'
7787 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: regarding His saying: 'Devils,' he means: Iblis and his progeny.
7788 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: 'Devils from mankind and jinn,' he said: There are devils among mankind and there are devils among the jinn, who inspire one another.
His saying, Exalted is He: 'Inspiring'
7789 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Ali ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Umayyah ibn Khalid narrated to us, Qurrah ibn Khalid narrated to us, from Abu Yazid al-Madani, from 'Ikrimah, who said: I came to al-Mukhtar, so he honored me and lodged me with him until he used to personally check on my sleeping arrangements at night. He said: Then he said to me: 'Go out and teach the people.' He said: So I went out, and a man came and said: 'What do you say regarding revelation (wahy)?' I said: 'Revelation is of two types.' Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, said: 'By what We have revealed to you of this Qur'an,' and Allah said: 'Devils from mankind and jinn, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a deception.'

قوله: مَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا إِلا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَجْهَلُونَ قَالَ: سَأَلَتْ قُرَيْشٌ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ بِآيَةٍ اسْتَحْلَفَهُمْ لَيُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهَا.
٧٧٨٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ ابْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: قَوْلَهُ: مَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا وَهُمْ أَهْلُ الشَّقَاءِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:
إِلا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ وَهُمْ أَهْلُ السَّعَادَةِ، الَّذِينَ سَبَقَ لَهُمْ فِي عِلْمِهِ أَنْ يَدْخُلُوا فِي الإِيمَانِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ
٧٧٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا مُعَانُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ ابن يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ، تَعَوَّذْتَ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَيَاطِينِ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ؟ قَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، وَهَلْ لِلإِنْسِ شَيَاطِينُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ شَيَاطِينَ الإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا.
٧٧٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ: قَوْلَهُ: شياطين يَعْنِي: إِبْلِيسَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ.
٧٧٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «١» أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: شَيَاطِينَ الإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ قَالَ: مِنَ الإِنْسِ شَيَاطِينٌ، وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ شَيَاطِينٌ، يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يُوحِي
٧٧٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ثنا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدَنِيِّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى الْمُخْتَارِ، فَأَكْرَمَنِي وَأَنْزَلَنِي عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى كَانَ يَتَعَاهَدُ مَبِيتِي بِاللَّيْلِ، قَالَ فَقَالَ: لِي: اخْرُجْ فَحَدِّثِ النَّاسَ. قَالَ: فَخَرَجْتُ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْوَحْيِ؟ قُلْتُ: الْوَحْيُ وَحْيَانِ. قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:
بِمَا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ «٢» وَقَالَ اللَّهُ: شَيَاطِينَ الإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ القول غرورا.
