7794 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding His saying: 'Adorned speech as a deception,' he said: The 'adorned' (al-zukhruf) is that which is beautified, where this deception was made fair-seeming to them, just as Iblis (Satan) beautified to Adam what he came with, and swore to him that he was indeed among the sincere advisors.
His saying: 'But if your Lord had willed, they would not have done it. So leave them and that which they fabricate.'
7795 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: 'And that which they fabricate,' he said: That which they lie about.
His saying: 'So that it may incline to it'
7796 - And through the same chain, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: 'So that it may incline to it,' he said: So that it may lean towards it.
It was narrated from al-Suddi that he said: The hearts of the disbelievers will incline towards it.
7797 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard Ibn Zayd – meaning 'Abd al-Rahman – regarding His saying: 'So that it may incline to it,' he said: And so that it may desire that. He said: A man says to a woman: 'Saghaytu ilayha' (I have inclined towards her), meaning: I have desired her.
His saying: 'The hearts'
7798 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: 'The hearts' (af'idah), he said: The hearts (qulub).
His saying: 'Of those who do not believe in the Hereafter'
7799 - And through the same chain, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: 'Of those who do not believe in the Hereafter,' he said: The hearts of the disbelievers will incline towards it.
His saying: 'And so that they may be pleased with it'
7800 - And through the same chain, from al-Suddi, regarding: 'So that they may be pleased with it,' he said: They love it and are satisfied with it.
His saying: 'And so that they may commit'
7801 - And through the same chain, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: 'And so that they may commit' (yaqtarifu), he says: So that they may do (or act).
It was narrated from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam similarly to that.

٧٧٩٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا قَالَ: الزُّخْرُفُ الْمُزَيَّنُ، حَيْثُ زُيِّنَ لَهُمْ هَذَا الْغُرُورُ، كَمَا زَيَّنَ إِبْلِيسُ لآدَمَ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ وَقَاسَمَهُ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ «١» .
قَوْلُهُ: وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ
٧٧٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: قَوْلَهُ: وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ قال: مَا يَكْذِبُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلِتَصْغَى إِلَيْهِ
٧٧٩٦ - وَبِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلِتَصْغَى إِلَيْهِ، قَالَ: لِتَمِيلَ إِلَيْهِ
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: تَمِيلُ إِلَيْهِ قُلُوبُ الْكُفَّارِ.
٧٧٩٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:

قَالَ: يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ لِلْمَرْأَةَ: صَغَيْتُ إِلَيْهَا: هَوِيتُهَا.

٧٧٩٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الأَوْدِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: أَفْئِدَةُ قَالَ: قُلُوبُ.
قَوْلُهُ: الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ
٧٧٩٩ - وَبِهِ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلُهُ: الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ قَالَ: تَمِيلُ إِلَيْهِ قُلُوبُ الْكُفَّارِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلْيَرْضَوْهُ
٧٨٠٠ - وَبِهِ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: لِيَرْضَوْهُ، قَالَ: يُحِبُّونَهُ وَيَرْضَوْنَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلْيَقْتَرِفُوا
٧٨٠١ - وَبِهِ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: قَوْلَهُ: وَلْيَقْتَرِفُوا يَقُولُ: لِيَعْمَلُوا.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
