[6101] Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi reported to me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Or turn away," he says: Al-i'rad (turning away) is abandonment.
[6102] Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Or turn away," he said: You abandon [the testimony].
It was narrated from 'Atiyyah similarly. It was narrated from al-Suddi that he said: You turn away from it, concealing it, and you say: "I have no testimony."
His saying, the Almighty: "Then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted."
[6103] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do"—meaning: from concealing the testimony or establishing it—"Acquainted."
His saying, the Almighty: "O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger."
[6104] And by it [the same chain] from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Believe in Allah," he means: with the Tawhid (oneness) of Allah.
[6105] My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Raja' narrated to us, 'Imran Abu al-'Awwam al-Qattan reported from Qatadah, from Abu al-Malih, from Wathilah ibn al-Asqa', that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The Quran was sent down on the twenty-fourth of Ramadan."
His saying, the Almighty: "And the Book which He sent down before."
[6106] 'Isam ibn Dawud narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, he said: "The Book was sent down at the time of disagreement."
His saying, the Almighty: "And whoever disbelieves in Allah and His angels..." [the verse].
[6107] Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And whoever disbelieves," he said: He has disbelieved in Allah and the Last Day.
[6108] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "And the Last Day," he means: in the Unseen, in which there is the recompense for deeds."
