His saying, the Almighty: "So establish the prayer."
[5916] Hajjaj narrated to us, [saying] Shababa narrated to us, [saying] Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "So establish the prayer," he says: "Perform it completely." It was narrated from Qatada similarly.
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, the prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times."

[5917] My father narrated to us, [saying] Abu Salih narrated to us, [saying] Mu'awiya ibn Salih narrated me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talha, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Indeed, the prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times," meaning: Obligatory.
It was narrated from 'Ali ibn al-Husayn, Muhammad ibn 'Ali, Salim ibn 'Abd Allah, Mujahid, al-Hasan, al-Suddi, 'Atiyya, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan similarly.
And the second view:
[5918] Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, [saying] Ma'mar informed us, from Qatada regarding His saying: "Indeed, the prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times," [saying that] Ibn Mas'ud said: "Indeed, for the prayer there is a time, like the time of the Hajj."
[5919] My father narrated to us, [saying] Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "Indeed, the prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times," he said: "Staged/divided into segments; whenever one segment passes, another segment arrives." He means: Whenever one time passes, another time arrives.
His saying, the Almighty: "And do not weaken."
[5920] Abu Zur'a narrated to us, [saying] Minjab narrated to us, [saying] Bishr ibn 'Umara informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And do not weaken in the pursuit of the people," he said: "And do not grow faint."
It was narrated from Abu Malik, al-Suddi, and al-Dahhak similarly.
His saying, the Almighty: "...in the pursuit of the people."
[5921] Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, [saying] al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "And do not weaken in the pursuit of the people," he said: "Do not grow faint in seeking the people."
