Translation · EN

[6242] Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "But Allah raised him up unto Himself," meaning: Allah raised 'Isa up unto Himself while he was alive.

[6243] 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Zuhayr ibn 'Abbad al-Ru'asi narrated to us, Rudayh ibn 'Atiyyah narrated to me, from Abu Zur'ah al-Shaybani, that it was narrated to him that 'Isa ibn Maryam was raised from Mount Tur Zayta. He said: Allah sent a wind that carried him away until he hurried, then Allah raised him up to the sky.

His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah is Ever Exalted in Might, All-Wise."

[6244] Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhal ibn 'Amr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: A man came to him and said: Tell me about the saying of Allah, "And Allah is Ever Exalted in Might, All-Wise." Ibn 'Abbas said: He was thus, and He has always been so.

[6245] Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Sulayman al-Razi narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Abi Qays, from Mutarrif, from al-Minhal ibn 'Amr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: A man came to him and said: I heard Allah, the Almighty, saying: "And Allah was..." as if it were a thing that once was. He replied: As for His saying "was" (kana), it means He has always been and will always be. He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden... All-Knowing of everything.

[6246] My father narrated to me, Husayn ibn 'Isa ibn Maysarah narrated to us, Abu Zuhayr 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Maghra' narrated to us, Mujammi' ibn Yahya informed us, from his paternal uncle, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: A Jew said: You claim that Allah was Exalted in Might and All-Wise, so how is He today? Ibn 'Abbas said: He was, by His own essence, Exalted in Might and All-Wise.

His saying, the Almighty: "And there is none from the People of the Scripture."
