His saying, the Almighty: "...they will have two-thirds of what he left."
[6335] Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Hisham al-Dastawa'i narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me while I was ill and said to me: 'O Jabir, I see that you will die from this day of yours, so clarify [the inheritance] to your sisters.' So he bequeathed two-thirds to them." He said: And Jabir used to say: "This verse was revealed concerning me: 'But if there are two [sisters], they will have two-thirds of what he left,' up to the end of the verse."
[6336] Abu Zur’ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi’ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "...they will have two-thirds of what he left," meaning: the brother.
His saying, the Almighty: "And if they are brothers."
[6337] And by the same chain, from Sa’id: "And if they are brothers," meaning: the siblings of the deceased.
His saying, the Almighty: "...men and women."
[6338] And by the same chain, from Sa’id regarding His saying: "...men and women," [meaning] from his father and mother, or from his father, "the male shall have the equivalent of the portion of two females."
His saying, the Almighty: "The male shall have the equivalent of the portion of two females."
[6339] My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu’awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "The male shall have the equivalent of the portion of two females," whether small or large.
[6340] Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying [haz]: he says, "a share."
His saying, the Almighty: "Allah makes clear to you, lest you go astray."
[6341] Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi’ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma’mar informed us, from Ayyub, from Sirin, who said: "When Ibn ‘Umar al-Khattab used to read: 'Allah makes clear to you, lest you go astray (an tadillu),' he would say: 'O Allah, whoever has had the kalalah clarified for him, it has not been clarified for me.'"
[6342] Abu Zur’ah narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, Ibn Lahi’ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me,
