Translation · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah is All-Powerful over everything."

[6350] Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbas narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said regarding His saying: "And Allah is All-Powerful over everything": "Allah is All-Powerful over everything He wills regarding His servants, whether it be retribution or pardon."

His saying, the Almighty: "O Messenger, let not those who hasten in disbelief grieve you."

[6351] My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu’awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Let not those who hasten in disbelief grieve you"; he said: "They are the Jews."

His saying, the Almighty: "Of those who say, 'We believe' with their mouths, but their hearts do not believe."

[6352] And through the same chain from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Of those who say, 'We believe' with their mouths, but their hearts do not believe," he said: "They are the hypocrites." A similar account was narrated from Mujahid.

[6353] Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Of those who say, 'We believe' with their mouths, but their hearts do not believe," he said: "It was revealed concerning a man from the Ansar, who is claimed to be Abu Lubabah. The Banu Qurayzah signaled to him on the day of the siege... regarding their matter... it is the slaughter."

His saying, the Almighty: "And among those who are Jews, listeners to falsehood."

[6354] Usayd ibn ‘Asim narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, Zakariyya narrated to us, from al-Sha’bi, from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah, regarding His saying: "Listeners to falsehood"; he said: "The Jews of Medina."

[6355] I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma’ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Listeners to falsehood"; he said: "They are the Jews of the tribes of Qurayzah and al-Nadir, among whom are Lubabah ibn Sa’afah, Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf, and Sa’id ibn ‘Amr."

[6356] Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Listeners to falsehood"; he said: "They are Abu Busrah and his companions."

His saying, the Almighty: "Listeners for other people."
