[6453] Musa ibn Abi Musa al-Kufi narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat ibn Nasr, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding his saying: "And We caused... to follow"—meaning: We made to follow.
[The second view]
I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding his saying: "And We caused... to follow"—he says: We sent.
His saying, the Exalted: "...in their footsteps"
[6454] And through the same chain from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding his saying: "And We caused... to follow in their footsteps"—he says: From after them.
His saying: "...with Jesus, son of Mary, confirming that which was before him of the Torah."
His saying, the Exalted: "And We gave him the Gospel."
[6455] My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Raja' narrated to us, 'Imran al-Qattan Abu al-'Awwam informed us, from Qatadah, from Abu al-Malih, from Wa'ilah, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: The Gospel was revealed when thirteen days of Ramadan had passed.
His saying, the Exalted: "...in which was guidance and light."
Its interpretation has already preceded.
His saying, the Exalted: "...confirming that which was before it of the Torah"—the verse.
[6456] My father narrated to us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Dawud ibn al-Husayn, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "...and an admonition for the righteous, who were after them until the Day of Resurrection."
[6457] al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bashshar narrated to us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, from al-Hasan: "...and an admonition for the righteous"—those after them, so they may fear the favor of Allah the Exalted and be cautious of it.
His saying, the Exalted: "And let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein."

٦٤٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَجَا أَنْبَأَ عِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ أَبُو الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ وَائِلَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: أُنْزِلَ الإِنْجِيلُ لِثَلاثَ عَشَرَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فيه هدى ونور
قَدْ تَقَدَّمَ تَفْسِيرُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التوراة الْآيَةَ
٦٤٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ عكرمة عن بن عَبَّاسٍ: وَمَوْعِظَةً لِلْمُتَّقِينَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
٦٤٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ ثنا سُرُورُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ بَعْدَهُمْ فَيَتَّقُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَيَحْذَرُونَهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلْيَحْكُمْ أَهْلُ الإِنْجِيلِ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ
