His saying, the Almighty: "Those who had forgotten it from before will say"

8564 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid(1) regarding His saying: "Those who had forgotten it from before will say," meaning: They turned away from it.

8565 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Those who had forgotten it from before," meaning: Those who had forgotten it, so they abandoned it.

His saying, the Almighty: "The messengers of our Lord have come with the truth"

8566 - And with the same chain from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "The messengers of our Lord have come with the truth," he said: When they saw what their prophets had promised them, they became certain, so they said: "The messengers of our Lord have come with the truth."

His saying, the Almighty: "So are there any intercessors for us to intercede for us, or could we be sent back to do other than what we used to do?"

8567 - My father told us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far told us, from his father, from al-Rabi' regarding His saying: "Those who had forgotten it from before will say: The messengers of our Lord have come with the truth," he said: A matter of its fulfillment will keep occurring until its fulfillment is completed on the Day of Resurrection. Concerning that, He sent down: "Do they wait for anything except its fulfillment?" when Allah rewards His allies and His enemies according to the reward of their deeds. He says on that day: "Those who had forgotten it from before will say: The messengers of our Lord have come with the truth. So are there any intercessors for us to intercede for us, or could we be sent back to do other than what we used to do?"

His saying, the Almighty: "They have lost themselves"

8568 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn Bashshar told us, Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Abu Razin regarding His saying: "They have lost themselves," he said: They have strayed.

8569 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "They have lost themselves," meaning: They doomed them to loss.
