Translation · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "Lord of the worlds."

8589 - 'Ali ibn Harb al-Mawsili told us, Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, from Husayn ibn Waqid, from Matar al-Warraq, from Qatadah regarding the saying of Allah: "Lord of the worlds," he said: That which He described of His creation.

His saying, the Almighty: "Call upon your Lord."

8590 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj told us, Ibn Idris, Ibn Numayr, Waki', and 'Uqbah told us, from al-A'mash, from Dharr, from Yusay' ibn al-Sumayt, from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Supplication is worship." (1)

8591 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad told us, Shayban told us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Verily, your Lord is Allah who created the heavens and the earth" until the end of the verse: He said: When Allah informed you of His power, His greatness, and His majesty, He explained to you how you should call upon Him in accordance with that, so He said: "Call upon your Lord with humility and in secret. Verily, He does not like the transgressors."

His saying, the Almighty: "With humility and in secret."

8592 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah told me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar told me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Call upon your Lord with humility," meaning: submissively.

His saying, the Almighty: "And in secret."

8593 - And by the same chain from Sa'id regarding His saying: "And in secret," meaning: in gentleness and calmness regarding your needs of the affairs of this world and the Hereafter.

8594 - My father told us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah al-Uwaysi told us, Ibn Abi al-Rijal told us, from Zayd ibn Aslam that he said: Regarding the saying of Allah: "Call upon your Lord with humility and in secret," Zayd said: He meant by that, the recitation.

٨٥٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ قَالَ: مَا وَصَفَ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ

٨٥٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَوَكِيعٌ، وَعُقْبَةُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ، عَنْ يُسَيْعِ بْنِ السُّمَيْطِ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: الدُّعَاءُ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ «١» .

٨٥٩١ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الطُّوسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السماوات وَالأَرْضَ إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ: قَالَ: لَمَّا أَنْبَأَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِقُدْرَتِهِ وَعَظَمَتِهِ وَجَلالِهِ بَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَدْعُونَهُ عَلَى تَفَئِهِ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً

٨٥٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلُهُ: ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا يَعْنِي مُسْتَكِينًا

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَخُفْيَةً

٨٥٩٣ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَخُفْيَةً يَعْنِي فِي خَفْضٍ وَسُكُونٍ فِي حَاجَاتِكُمْ مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ.

٨٥٩٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأُوَيْسِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً قَالَ زيد:

عني بذلك القراءة.
