The affliction, and he waited for generation after generation, and no century came but it was more wicked than the one before it, until the last of them would say: "This has existed with our fathers and grandfathers," being mad, and they would not accept anything from him, until Noah, peace and blessings be upon him, complained to Allah the Almighty about their behavior and said: as Allah has recounted to us in His Book.

8632 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb informed us, Malik told me, from Zayd ibn Aslam, that the people of the plain and the people of the mountain were constrained to the point that the people of the plain could not ascend to the mountain, nor could the people of the mountain descend to the people of the plain in the time of Noah. He said: They were crowded.
His saying, the Almighty: "That I should convey to you the messages of my Lord."

No prophet encountered more trials from his people than he did, except for a prophet who was killed. He would call them as Allah said: "By night and day, secretly and publicly," with counsel for them, but that only increased them in flight from him, to the point that he would speak to a man among them, and he would wrap his head with his garment and put his fingers in his ears so that he would not hear anything of his speech.
His saying, the Almighty: "And that you may receive mercy."

8636 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us, Ibn Wahb informed us, who said: It has reached me from Ibn 'Abbas.
