Translation · EN

8652 - Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa told us, Salama told us, from Ibn Ishaq: "And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah," up to "the inhabitant of the earth after the people of Noah."

His saying, the Almighty: "And increased you in creation extensively."

[The first interpretation]

8653 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And increased you in creation extensively," he said: In stature.

8654 - Abu Zayd al-Qaratisi informed me in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, who said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And increased you in creation extensively," he said: In strength, the strength of 'Ad.

The second interpretation:

8655 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And increased you in creation extensively," in height.

His saying, the Almighty: "So remember the favors of Allah."

8656 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "So remember the favors of Allah," he says: Remember the blessings of Allah upon you, which are the favors. It was also narrated from Mujahid, Qatadah, al-Suddi, and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam the same.

His saying, the Almighty: "That you might succeed."

8657 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Ibn Wahb informed us, Abu Sakhr al-Madani informed us, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi that he used to say regarding this verse "That you might succeed," he says: That you might succeed tomorrow when you meet Me.

His saying, the Almighty: "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers used to worship?" up to "the truthful."

8658 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed me in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad told us.
