8707 - My father told us, Salamah ibn Bashir Abu al-Fadl al-Naysaburi told us, Yahya ibn Sa‘id al-Himsi told us, from Yazid ibn ‘Ata, from Khalaf ibn Hawshab, who said: The people of Shu‘ayb perished from one barley grain to another; they used to take with the heavy [measure] and give with the light [measure].
His saying, the Almighty: "And do not deprive people of their due."
8708 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn ‘Umarah reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And do not deprive people of their due," he said: Do not wrong people regarding their things. Similar has been narrated from Qatadah and al-Suddi.
8709 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed me in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, who said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "And do not deprive people of their due," he said: Do not diminish them if they have divided something for him and you give him other than that.
His saying, the Almighty: "And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation."
8710 - My father mentioned it, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Hamzah ibn Isma‘il told us, from Yahya ibn al-Durays, Abu Sinan reported to us regarding His saying: "And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation," he said: I have made My lawful things lawful and My prohibited things prohibited, and I have set My boundaries, so do not change them.
8711 - My father told us, ‘Ammar ibn Musa al-Tarsusi told us, Sunayd ibn Dawud told us, who said: It was said to Abu Bakr ibn ‘Ayyash: What is His saying in His Book: "And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation?" Abu Bakr said: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, sent Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to the people of the earth while they were in corruption, so Allah reformed them through Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. So whoever is invited to oppose what Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, brought, then he is among those who cause corruption upon the earth.
His saying, the Almighty: "And do not sit."
8712 - My father told us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And do not sit on every path, threatening [people]"—he said: The tenth.
٨٧٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَطَا، عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، قَالَ: هَلَكَ قَوْمُ شُعَيْبٍ مِنْ شَعِيرَةٍ إِلَى شَعِيرَةٍ، كَانُوا يَأْخُذُونَ بِالرَّزِينَةِ، وَيُعْطُونَ بِالْخَفِيفَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ
٨٧٠٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَلا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ قَالَ: لَا تَظْلِمُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَالسُّدِّيِّ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
٨٧٠٩ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَلا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ قَالَ: لَا تَنْقُصُوهُمْ قَسَمُوا لَهُ شَيْئًا وَتَعْطِيهِ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاحِهَا
٨٧١٠ - ذَكَرَهُ أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الضُّرَيْسِ أَنْبَأَ أَبُو سِنَانٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاحِهَا قَالَ: قَدْ أَحْلَلْتُ حَلالِي وَحَرَّمْتُ حَرَامِي وَحَدَّدتُ حُدُودِي فَلا تُغَيِّرُوهَا.
٨٧١١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَمَّارُ بْنُ مُوسَى الطَّرَسُوسِيُّ، ثنا سُنَيْدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قال: قيل لأبي بكر ابن عَيَّاشٍ مَا قَوْلُهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ: وَلا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاحِهَا فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ وَهُمْ فِي فَسَادٍ فَأَصْلَحَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَنْ دُعِيَ إِلَى خِلافِ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَهُوَ مِنَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الأَرْضِ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلا تَقْعُدُوا
٨٧١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَلا تَقْعُدُوا بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوعِدُونَ قَالَ:
