8713 - Muhammad ibn Sa‘d al-‘Awfi informed me in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my uncle told me, from his father, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And do not sit on every path, threatening [people]"—the sirat (path) is the road.

8714 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding "on every path, threatening [people]"—he said: On every path of truth.

His saying, the Almighty: "threatening [people]."

8718 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And you avert [people] from the way of Allah"—he said: They avert those who believe from the way of Allah.

His saying, the Almighty: "from the way of Allah."

8719 - And through the same chain, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And you avert [people] from the way of Allah"—he said: From Islam.

His saying, the Almighty: "And you seek to make it crooked."

8720 - Hajjaj told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding "And you seek to make it crooked"—they seek for it deviation.
