[His saying, the Almighty: "Then do the people of the cities feel secure"]
8770 - It is mentioned from al-Muqaddami, Harun al-Khazzaz told us, from 'Ali ibn al-Mubarak, Abu 'Imran al-Shaqari told us, he said: Ibn 'Abbas used to say: "Do not keep chickens and dogs, lest you become of those [like the inhabitants] of the cities," and he recited: "Then do the people of the cities feel secure that Our punishment will come to them in the morning while they are at play?"
His saying, the Almighty: "Then are they secure from the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah"
8771 - My father told us, Abu Bakr ibn Marwan ibn al-Hakam al-Usaydi told us, Abu 'Urwah al-Zubayr ibn 'Isa ibn 'Urwah ibn Yahya ibn 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr told us, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, he said: A man wrote to a friend of his: "And if you are pleased with something from Allah that pleases you, do not feel secure that it might contain a plan from Allah, for no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people."
8772 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Harun ibn Sa'id told us, Ibn Wahb informed us, Ibn Zayd informed us, from his father, that Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said to the angels: "What is this fear that has reached you, when I have placed you in a station that I have not placed anyone else in?" They said: "Our Lord, we do not feel secure from Your plan; no one feels secure from Your plan except the losing people."
8773 - My father told us, Hammad ibn Humayd al-'Asqalani told us, Ayyub ibn Suwayd told us, from Isma'il ibn Rafi', he said: Among the [signs of] feeling secure from the plan of Allah is a servant persisting in sin while hoping for forgiveness from Allah.
His saying, the Almighty: "Has it not become clear"
8774 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (1) regarding His saying: "Has it not become clear [ahwa hada]"—meaning, "Has it not been made evident [yubayyin]." It was narrated from al-Suddi and 'Ata' al-Khurasani similar to that.
His saying, the Almighty: "To those who inherit the earth"
8775 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us,

٨٧٧٠ - ذُكِرَ، عَنِ الْمُقَدَّمِيِّ، ثنا هَارُونُ الْخَزَّازُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الشَّقَرِيُّ قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الدَّجَاجَ وَالْكِلابَ فَتَكُونُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْقُرَى وَتَلا: أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَى أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَفَأَمِنُوا مَكْرَ اللَّهِ فَلا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللَّهِ
٨٧٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الأُسَيِّدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عُرْوَةَ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ: كَتَبَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى صَاحِبٍ لَهُ: وَإِذَا رَضِيتَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا يَسُرُّكَ فَلا تَأْمَنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِ من الله مكر فإنه لا يَأْمَنُ مَكَرَ اللَّهِ إِلا الْقَوْمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
٨٧٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَالَ لِلْمَلائِكَةِ: مَا هَذَا الْخَوْفُ الَّذِي قَدْ بَلَغَكُمْ وَقَدْ أنزلتكم المنزلة الذي لم أنزله غيركم؟ قالوا: رَبَّنَا لَا نَأْمَنُ مَكْرَكَ، لَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَكَ إِلا الْقَوْمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ.
٨٧٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ قَالَ: مِنَ الأَمْنِ لِمَكْرِ اللَّهِ إِقَامَةُ الْعَبْدِ عَلَى الذَّنْبِ يَتَمَنَّى عَلَى اللَّهِ الْمَغْفِرَةَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ
٨٧٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١»
قَوْلُهُ: أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ يُبَيِّنُ وَرُوِيَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، وَعَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الأَرْضَ
