Translation · EN

8011 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj told us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar told us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from al-Qasim, who said: Whenever 'Aishah was asked about every animal with fangs among the beasts of prey, and every bird with talons, she would say: "Say, 'I do not find within that which was revealed to me a forbidden upon a consumer who consumes it except if it be carrion or blood poured out,'" then she would say: "Indeed, a pot may contain yellow fat."

8012 - It was mentioned from al-Fadl ibn Musa, from Sharik, from Simak, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The people of the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah), when they slaughtered, would cut the jugular veins of the animal, take the blood, and eat it. They would say: "It is blood poured out."

8013 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' told us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Or blood poured out," he said: "He forbade the blood that is poured out, but as for meat mixed with blood, there is no harm in it."

8014 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' told us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ibn 'Uyaynah informed us, from 'Amr ibn Dinar, from 'Ikrimah, that he said: "If not for this verse: 'Or blood poured out,' the Muslims would have followed the veins just as the Jews followed them."

His saying, Exalted is He: "Or the flesh of swine, for indeed, it is impure, or [it is] a transgression."

8015 - al-Hasan ibn Ahmad told us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah told us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah told me, from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "Or the flesh of swine," he said: "Allah forbade the carrion, the blood, and the flesh of swine."

His saying: "[That which has been] dedicated to other than Allah."

[The first aspect]

8016 - 'Isam ibn Dawud told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja'far told us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding "And that which has been dedicated to other than Allah," he says: "That over which a name other than Allah’s has been mentioned." It was narrated from al-Rabi' ibn Anas similarly.

The second aspect:

8017 - My father told us, Abu Hudhayfah told us, Shibl told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding "dedicated to other than Allah," he said: "That which was slaughtered for other than Allah." It was narrated from al-Hasan, Qatadah, al-Dahhak, and al-Zuhri something similar.
