Translation · EN

8937 - Abu Sa'id ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan told us, 'Amr ibn Muhammad al-'Anqazi told us, Asbat ibn Nasr told us, from al-Suddi, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "But when his Lord appeared to the mountain," he said: Nothing appeared of Him except [the size of] the little finger.

8938 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Yahya ibn Sulayman told us, Musa ibn Sa'id ibn Aslam, the brother of Abu Muslim al-Ju'fi, told me, 'Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Sulayman told us, from Mujahid regarding the word of Allah: "But when his Lord appeared to the mountain," he said: He revealed a part of the veils.

His saying, the Exalted: "He made it level."

8939 - 'Umar ibn Shaybah told us, al-Azdi Muhammad ibn Yahya Abu Ghassan al-Kinani told us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Imran told me, from Mu'awiyah ibn 'Abd Allah, from al-Jild ibn Ayyub, from Mu'awiyah ibn Qurrah, from Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "When Allah appeared to the mountains, six mountains flew away because of His majesty; three fell in Medina and three in Makkah. In Medina: Uhud, Warqan, and Radwan. And in Makkah fell: Hira', Thabir, and Thawr."

8940 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Muhammad ibn Kathir told us, Hammad told us, Thabit reported to us, from Anas that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recited: "But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it level," the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Like this." Hammad described it and placed the tip of his thumb on the joint of his little finger. He said: "Then the mountain sank."

8941 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, al-Husayn ibn al-Aswad and al-Haytham ibn Jannad told us, both said: 'Amr ibn Muhammad (meaning al-'Anqazi) told us, Asbat ibn Nasr told us, from al-Suddi, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "He made it level," he said: Dust. It was also narrated from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni similarly.

8942 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr reported to us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "He made it level," he said: One part of it leveled the other.

8943 - It was mentioned from Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Abi al-Thalj, al-Haytham ibn Kharijah told us, 'Uthman ibn Husayn ibn Ghilaq told us, from 'Urwah ibn Ruwaym, who said: The mountains, before Allah appeared to Moses on the Mount, were solid and smooth. When Allah appeared to Moses on the Mount, the Mount became level and the mountains cracked, and so cracks and caves were formed.
