8963 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Yunus ibn Bukayr told us, from Ja'far ibn Burqan, from Maymun who said: Among what Allah the Exalted wrote for Moses on the tablets was: "O Moses, do not swear by Me falsely, for I do not purify the deed of one who swears by Me falsely."

8964 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' told us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil informed us that he heard Wahb ibn Munabbih saying regarding His saying: "And We wrote for him on the tablets from all things an admonition and a detailed explanation of all things," he said: He wrote for him: "Do not associate anything with Me from the inhabitants of the heavens nor from the inhabitants of the earth, for all of that is My creation, and do not swear by My Name falsely, for I do not purify one who swears by My Name falsely, and honor your parents."

8965 - Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani reported to us in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim informed us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil informed me that he heard Wahb saying: "Indeed, in the tablets that Allah the Almighty and Majestic wrote for Moses—which Allah the Exalted said: 'And We wrote for him on the tablets from all things an admonition and a detailed explanation of all things'—He said to him: 'O Moses, worship Me and do not associate with Me anything from the inhabitants of the heavens or the inhabitants of the earth, for they are all My creation. If one associates with Me, I become angry, and if I become angry, I curse, and My curse reaches the fourth generation of offspring. If I am obeyed, I am pleased, and if I am pleased, I bless, and the blessing from Me reaches nation after nation. O Moses, do not swear by My Name falsely, for I do not purify one who swears by My Name falsely. O Moses, honor your parents, for whoever honors his parents, I will extend his lifespan and grant him a child who will be dutiful to him; and whoever is undutiful to his parents, I will shorten his lifespan and grant him a child who will be undutiful to him. O Moses, observe the Sabbath, for it is the last day I completed My creation. O Moses, do not commit adultery or steal. O Moses, do not turn your face away from My enemy. O Moses, do not commit adultery with the wife of your neighbor who trusts you. O Moses, do not overcome your neighbor regarding his wealth, nor betray him regarding his wife.'"

8966 - My father told us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman told us, a man told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And We wrote for him on the tablets from all things an admonition," he said: Everything they were commanded to do and forbidden from doing.
