from Asbagh ibn Zayd, from al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub, Sa'id ibn Jubayr told me, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And My mercy encompasses all things. So I will ordain it for those who fear Me, and give the Zakah, and those who believe in Our verses." He said: Moses said: "O Lord, I asked You for repentance for my people, and You said: 'Your mercy, I have ordained it for a people other than your people,' so I wish You had delayed me until You brought me out alive within the nation of that blessed man."
9055 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Harawi told us, al-'Ala' ibn 'Abd al-Jabbar told us, Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, that Ibn 'Abbas recited: "And My mercy encompasses all things. So I will ordain it for those who fear Me." He said: Allah made it for this nation.
9056 - My father told us, Ibrahim ibn Musa told us, Yahya ibn Yaman reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Basri, from al-Hasan and Ibn Sirin, regarding "So I will ordain it for those who fear Me," they both said: They fear shirk (polytheism) and the worship of idols.
9057 - My father told us, Hisham ibn 'Ammar told us, Yazid ibn Samurah told us, he said: I heard 'Ata' al-Khurasani regarding His saying: "So I will ordain it for those who fear Me," he said: It is not for you, nor for your companions.
9058 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid told us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding "So I will ordain it for those who fear Me," [he added]: [those who fear] the disobedience of Allah.
9059 - My father told us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman told us, Abu Yahya al-Himmani told us, from Muhammad al-'Attar, from Kathir al-Nawa, from some of our companions, from 'Ali, that he was asked about Abu Bakr and 'Umar. 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "They are among the seventy members of the delegation for whom Moses, peace be upon him, asked, and they were granted to Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."

9060 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Zakah," he means: by Zakah, [it means] the obedience of Allah and sincerity.

9061 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Junayd told us, Abu Bakr and 'Uthman told us, Abi Shaybah reported to us, they both said: Waki' told us, from Abu Janab, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Zakah," he said: What makes the Zakah obligatory, he said: Two hundred [dirhams] or more."
عَنْ أَصْبَغِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:
وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِآيَاتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ فَقَالَ مُوسَى: رَبِّ سَأَلْتُكَ التَّوْبَةَ لِقَوْمِي فَقُلْتَ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَكَ كَتَبْتَهَا لِقَوْمٍ غَيْرِ قَوْمِكَ فَلَيْتَكَ أَخَّرْتَنِي حَتَّى تُخْرِجَنِي حَيًّا فِي أُمَّةِ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلِ الْمَرْحُومَةِ.
٩٠٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْهَرَوِيُّ ثنا الْعَلاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَرَأَ: وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ قَالَ: جَعَلَهَا اللَّهُ لِهَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ.
٩٠٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَنْبَأَ يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَابْنِ سِيرِينَ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يتقون قَالا: يَتَّقُونَ الشِّرْكَ، وَعِبَادَةَ الأَوْثَانِ.
٩٠٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً الْخُرَاسَانِيَّ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ قَالَ: لَيْسَ لَكَ وَلا لأَصْحَابِكَ.
٩٠٥٨ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا يَزِيدُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ مَعَاصِيَ اللَّهِ.
٩٠٥٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ كَثِيرِ النِّوَاءِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَقَالَ: عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّهُمَا مِنَ الْوَفْدِ السَّبْعِينَ الَّذِينَ سُئِلَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ فَأُعْطَى مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

٩٠٦٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: الزَّكَاةَ يَعْنِي: بِالزِّكَاةِ طَاعَةَ اللَّهِ وَالإِخْلاصَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٩٠٦١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُثْمَانُ أنبأ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالا:
ثنا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ أَبِي جَنَابٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: فِي قَوْلِهِ: الزَّكَاةَ قَالَ:
مَا يُوجِبُ الزَّكَاةَ، قَالَ: مِائَتَيْنِ فَصَاعِدًا.
