Translation · EN

(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying a month before he died: "You ask me about the Hour, while its knowledge is only with my Lord. I swear by Allah, there is no soul breathing on the earth today that will still be alive in one hundred years."

8607 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas told us, Yazid told us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding His statement: "Say: Its knowledge is only with my Lord," he says: Its knowledge is with Allah; He does not reveal it at its time, no one knows that except Allah.

His statement, the Exalted: "None shall reveal it at its time except He"

8608 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His statement: "None shall reveal it at its time except He," meaning: None will bring it about except Allah.

His statement, the Exalted: "Except He"

8609 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah told us, Shibl told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding "None shall reveal it at its time except He," he says: None will bring it about except Allah.

His statement, the Exalted: "It is heavy in the heavens and the earth"

8610 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: regarding His statement: "It is heavy in the heavens and the earth," he said: There is nothing among the creation but that it will be affected by the harm of the Day of Resurrection.

8611 - Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani informed me, in what he wrote to me, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His statement: "It is heavy in the heavens and the earth," he said: Its knowledge is heavy upon the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, in that they do not know it. Ma'mar said, and al-Hasan said: When it arrives, it will be heavy upon the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, meaning: it will be momentous for them.

8612 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me, in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "It is heavy in the heavens and the earth," he says: It is hidden in the heavens and the earth; no angel brought near and no messenger prophet knows when its standing (occurrence) will be.

His statement, the Exalted: "It will not come to you except suddenly"

8613 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid told us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding His statement: "It will not come to you except suddenly," Allah has decreed that it will not come to you except suddenly.
