His statement, the Exalted: "Indeed, those you call upon besides Allah are servants like you."

8666 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Yahya ibn Yaman told us, from Ash'ath ibn Ishaq al-Qummi, from Ja'far ibn Abi al-Mughirah, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, he said: The sun and the moon will be brought on the Day of Resurrection until they are placed before Allah. Those who used to worship them will be brought, and it will be said: "Call upon them, and let them respond to you, if you are truthful."

His statement, the Exalted: "Do they have feet by which they walk, or do they have hands by which they strike?"

8667 - My father narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah Hamzah ibn Isma'il told us, Ishaq ibn Sulayman informed us, from Abu Sinan, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Buhturi, from Salman al-Farisi, he said: Hearts are four: A heart that is wrapped (aghlaf) is the heart of the disbeliever; a heart that is inverted (mankus) is the heart of the hypocrite; a heart that is encased (musaffah) is a heart that contains both faith and hypocrisy—the likeness of the faith in it is like the vegetable that is watered with water, and the likeness of the hypocrisy in it is like the ulcer that is fed by pus; they fight each other in his chest, and their sign is whichever prevails, it will consume its companion until Allah, the Exalted, causes him to reach what He causes him to reach. And a heart that is polished (ajrad) in which there is a lamp, and its lamp is its light; this is the heart of the believer.

His statement, the Exalted: "Indeed, my protector is Allah, who has revealed the Book; and He takes care of the righteous."

8668 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my paternal uncle Abu told me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His statement: "revealed the Book"—it is the Quran.

8669 - It was mentioned from Nasr ibn 'Ali and Ya'qub al-Dawraqi, from Muhammad ibn Marwan al-'Uqayli, from 'Umarah ibn Abi Hafsah, he said: Maslamah entered upon 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz to visit him during his illness in which he died. He said to him: "Whom do you recommend to look after your family?" He replied: "When I forget Allah, remind me." He repeated this to him three times, and he said: "Indeed, my protector is Allah, who has revealed the Book; and He takes care of the righteous."

His statement, the Exalted: "And those you call upon besides Him..."

8670 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa'id told us, from Qatadah regarding His statement: "And those you call upon besides Him"—he said: This is the idol.
