8717 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' told us, Sa'id told us, from Qatadah regarding his statement: "And when you do not bring them a sign, they say, 'Why did you not contrive it?'" i.e., why did you not bring it to us from yourself? He recited: "For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are in the breasts" (2), and he said: Truly, the religion is its sight and its hearing in this heart.
