Salit, from al-Dahhak, regarding: "And do not approach the wealth of the orphan except in the way that is best," he said: "He seeks to benefit the orphan with his wealth." And it was narrated from al-Suddi similar to that.

8084 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, that Asbagh said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And do not approach the wealth of the orphan except in the way that is best," he said: "The 'way that is best' is that he may eat from it in a customary manner if he is poor; but if he is wealthy, he should not eat from it." Allah says: "And whoever is rich, let him refrain, and whoever is poor, let him eat in a customary manner."(1) He was asked about clothing, and he replied: "Allah did not mention clothing; He only mentioned eating."

8085 - My father told us, Abu Ghassan told us, Hasan ibn Salih told us, regarding this verse: "And do not approach the wealth of the orphan except in the way that is best," he said: "He seeks benefit for him from the bounty of Allah, and he (the guardian) shall not have any part of that for himself."
