8779 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "His verses," [he said]: Meaning the Qur'an.

His saying, the Almighty: "They increase them in faith"

8780 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And when His verses are recited to them, they increase them in faith," he says: [It means] in belief (tasdiq).

8783 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And upon their Lord they rely," he says: They do not hope in anyone other than Him.

8784 - My father narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Huraym said: Narrated to us, from Abu Sinan, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, he said: Reliance (tawakkul) upon Allah is the entirety of faith.

8785 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray', from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And upon their Lord they rely," he said: This is the description of the people of faith; He described them and established their description, and He defined them and established their definition.

8786 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, Dirar ibn Murrah narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, he said: Reliance upon Allah is half of faith.

His saying, the Almighty: "Those who establish prayer"

8787 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "Those who establish prayer," he said: The five prayers.
