8795 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding "Those are the believers, truly," [he said]: They became worthy of faith in truth, so Allah confirmed it for them.
8796 - My father narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Hamzah ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Yahya al-Durays, Abu Sinan narrated to us, who said: 'Amr ibn Murrah was asked about His saying: "Those are the believers, truly," and he said:
The Qur'an was only revealed in the tongue of the Arabs, similar to your saying: "So-and-so is a leader, truly," while there are [other] leaders among the people; "So-and-so is a merchant, truly," while there are [other] merchants among the people; and "So-and-so is a poet, truly," while there are [other] poets among the people.
His saying, the Almighty: "They have degrees with their Lord"

8797 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Degrees," meaning: virtues and mercy.
8798 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us, Isra'il informed us, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid, regarding "They have degrees with their Lord," [he said]: Lofty deeds.
The Second Aspect:
8799 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Salama ibn Nubayt narrated to us, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "They have degrees with their Lord," [he said]: The people of Paradise are some above others, so the one who is above sees his merit over the one who is below him, and the one who is below does not see that anyone has any merit over him.
His saying, the Almighty: "And forgiveness"
8800 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us—in what he wrote to me—Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam informed us regarding Allah's saying "And forgiveness": [It means] by abandoning sins.
8801 - My father narrated to us, Abu 'Ubayd Allah (the nephew of Ibn Wahb) narrated to us, my uncle narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Jumahi, who said: Abu Hazim said: Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi said: When you hear Allah saying: "Generous provision," it is Paradise.
8802 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us—in what he wrote to me—Asbagh narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam informed us regarding "And generous provision," [he said]: Righteous deeds.
٨٧٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ حَقًّا قَالَ: اسْتَحَقُّوا الإِيمَانَ بِحَقٍّ، فَأَحَقَّهُ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ
٨٧٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ يَحْيَى الضُّرَيْسِ ثنا أَبُو سِنَانٍ قَالَ: سُئِلَ عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ حَقًّا قَالَ:
إِنَّمَا أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ بِلِسَانِ الْعَرَبِ، كَقَوْلِكَ: فُلانٌ سَيِّدٌ حَقًّا وَفِي الْقَوْمِ سَادَةٌ، وَفُلانٌ تَاجِرٌ حَقًّا وَفِي الْقَوْمِ تُجَّارٌ، وَفُلانٌ شَاعِرٌ حَقًّا وَفِي الْقَوْمِ شُعَرَاءُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَهُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ

٨٧٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ثنا عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قوله: درجات يَعْنِي: فَضَائِلَ وَرَحْمَةً
٨٧٩٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، أَنْبَأَ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ لَهُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ: أَعْمَالٌ رَفِيعَةٌ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٨٧٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ نُبَيْطٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: لَهُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ: أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ بَعْضُهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ، فَيَرَى الَّذِي هُوَ فَوْقَ فَضْلَهُ عَلَى الَّذِي هُوَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْهُ، وَلا يَرَى الَّذِي هُوَ أَسْفَلَ أَنَّهُ فَضُلَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَغْفِرَةٌ
٨٨٠٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ- فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ بِتَرْكِ الذُّنُوبِ.
٨٨٠١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ثنا عَمِّي عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو حَازِمٍ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيُّ: إِذَا سَمِعْتَ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: رِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ فَهِيَ الْجَنَّةُ.
٨٨٠٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَصْبَغُ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ وَرُزِقٌ كَرِيمٌ قَالَ: الأَعْمَالُ الصَّالِحَةُ.
