The Third Aspect:

8097 - My father told us, al-Husayn ibn al-Zibriqan told us, Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad told us, from Sufyan, regarding His saying: "We charge no soul except with that within its capacity," he said: "The performance of the obligatory acts."

His saying: "And when you speak, be just."

8098 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh told us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding His saying: "And when you speak, be just," he said: "Speak the truth."

His saying, the Exalted: "Even if he be a near kinsman."

8099 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Yahya told us, Ibn Lahi‘ah told me, ‘Ata’ told me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr: His saying: "And when you speak, be just, even if he be a near kinsman," meaning: "Even if it is your relative, speak the truth regarding him."

His saying: "And fulfill the covenant of Allah."

8100 - And by the same chain from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "And fulfill the covenant of Allah," and His saying in Surah al-Nahl(1): "And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have made a covenant," and His saying: "And do not break oaths after their confirmation," meaning: "After their solemnization and reinforcement."

His saying: "This has He instructed you with."

Its explanation has preceded.

His saying, the Blessed and Exalted: "And [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it."

8101 - Abu Sa‘id told us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar told us, he said: I heard Mujalid mentioning it from al-Sha‘bi, from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he drew a line, and drew two lines on his right, and drew two lines on his left. Then he placed his hand on the middle line and said: "This is the path of Allah," then he recited this verse: "And [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways."(2)
