Translation · EN

8115 - ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Umar Rustah mentioned: Ibn Mahdi told us, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Khusayf, from Mujahid: "When Moses threw down the tablets, the guidance and mercy remained, while the detailed explanation departed."

His saying, the Exalted: "Of all things."

8116 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa’ told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Of all things," he said: "That which they were commanded to do and that which they were forbidden from."

His saying: "And a guidance."

[The first interpretation]

8117 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ told us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, al-Thawri informed us, from Bayan, from al-Sha‘bi, regarding His saying: "A guidance," he said: "From misguidance."

The second interpretation:

8118 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, ‘Amr ibn Hammad told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: As for His saying: "A guidance," he said: "A light."

The third interpretation:

8119 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi‘ah told me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar told me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr: Regarding His saying: "A guidance," he said: "A clarification."

His saying: "And a mercy, that they might believe in the meeting of their Lord."

8120 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja‘far al-Razi told us, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And a mercy," he said: "It is the Quran."

His saying: "And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed."

8121 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Abu ‘Umayr told us, Mahdi ibn Ibrahim al-Ramli told us, from Malik ibn Anas, from Rabi‘ah, who said: "Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, revealed the Quran and left within it a place for the Sunnah, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, established the Sunnah and left within it a place for opinion (ra’y)."

8122 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Ibn Zuray‘ told us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed," he said: "It is the Quran which Allah revealed upon Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him."
