His saying, the Almighty: "What you are able of power."
[The First Aspect]
9198 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Ibn Wahb informed us, 'Amr ibn al-Harith informed me that Abu 'Ali al-Hamdani—that is, Thumamah ibn Shufayy—narrated to him from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir al-Juhani, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saying while he was on the pulpit: "And prepare for them what you are able of power. Indeed, power is archery," he said it three times.
The Second Aspect:
9199 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Shu'bah ibn Dinar, from 'Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "And prepare for them what you are able of power," he said: Fortresses.
The Third Aspect:
9200 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Jarir informed us, from Abu Sinan, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And prepare for them what you are able of power," he said: Power is the stallions of horses. It was narrated from 'Ikrimah something similar.
The Fourth Aspect:
9201 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Juwayriyah al-'Anazi narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Zuhri about the saying of Allah: "And prepare for them what you are able of power," he said: Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib said: Power is the horse up to the arrow and everything less than that.
9102 - 'Ali ibn Sahl al-Ramli informed us—in what he wrote to me—Damrah narrated to us, from Raja' ibn Abi Salamah, he said: A man met Mujahid while he was preparing to go out for a military expedition, and he had with him saddlebags (jawaliq), so Mujahid said: This also is from the power.

9103 - (*) Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Shu'bah ibn Dinar, from 'Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "And tethering of horses," he said: The females. It was narrated from Mujahid and 'Amr ibn Dinar something similar.
