"And if they incline to peace, then incline toward it." That is: If they invite you to peace based on Islam, then make peace with them on that basis.
His saying, the Almighty: "And rely upon Allah; indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing"
9123 - By the same chain, from his father, regarding His saying: "And rely upon Allah"—that is, Allah is sufficient for you—"Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing."
His saying, the Almighty: "And if they intend to deceive you"
9124 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And if they intend to deceive you"—[it refers to] Qurayza.
His saying, the Almighty: "To deceive you"
9125 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn al-Rabi' narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "And if they intend to deceive you," he said: If they intend to deceive you or plot against you, then Allah is sufficient for you.
His saying, the Almighty: "Then indeed, sufficient for you is Allah"
9126 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, Yahya ibn 'Abbad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us, from his father: "Then indeed, sufficient for you is Allah"—He is behind that.
His saying, the Almighty: "It is He who supported you with His help"
9127 - By the same chain, from Yahya ibn 'Abbad, from his father: "It is He who supported you with His help"—meaning: after [a state of] weakness.
His saying, the Almighty: "And with the believers"
9128 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim reported to us—in what he wrote to me—Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi: "It is He who supported you with His help and with the believers," he said: With the Ansar. A similar report was narrated from Bashir ibn Thabit al-Ansari.
His saying, the Almighty: "And brought their hearts together"
9129 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn al-Rabi' narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, regarding His saying: "And brought their hearts together"—by the Islam to which He guided them.
