8178 - Al-Ahmasi told us, Abu Yahya al-Himmani told us, from Abu Qutaybah al-Basri—meaning Nu‘aym ibn Thabit—from Abu Qilabah regarding His saying: "Hanifan," he said: "The Hanif is the one who believes in all the messengers from the first of them to the last of them."

8179 - My father told us, al-Nufayli told us, Muhammad ibn Salamah told us, from Khusayf, regarding His saying: "Hanifan," he said: "The Hanif is the sincere one."

His saying, the Almighty: "Say: Indeed, my prayer."

8180 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali told us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim told us, from Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Say: Indeed, my prayer," he said: "My obligatory prayer."

[His saying: And my ritual sacrifice.]

[The first interpretation]

8181 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "My prayer and my ritual sacrifice," he said: "My animal sacrifice in Hajj and 'Umrah." The same was narrated from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, al-Hasan, al-Suddi, and Qatadah.

And the second interpretation:

8182 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali told us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim told us, from Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And my ritual sacrifice," he said: "Meaning: The Hajj."

His saying: "And my life and my death are for Allah, Lord of the worlds."

8183 - Muhammad ibn ‘Awf al-Humsi told us, Ahmad ibn Khalid al-Wahbi told us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Abu ‘Ayyash, from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah, he said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sacrificed two rams on the day of the festival, and he said when he directed them: 'I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining to truth, and I am not of the polytheists... Indeed, my prayer, my ritual sacrifice, my life, and my death are for Allah, Lord of the worlds...' until the end of the two verses."
