8184 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ told us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma‘mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And I am the first of the Muslims," he said: "The first of the Muslims from this nation."

His saying, the Almighty: "Say, is it other than Allah I should desire as a Lord while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself."

8185 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn Wahb ibn ‘Atiyyah al-Dimashqi told us, al-Walid ibn Muslim told us, al-Qasim ibn Hazzan told us, al-Zuhri told me, Sa‘id ibn Marjanah told me, he said: Ibn ‘Abbas said: "Against itself what it has earned, of deeds."

8186 - My father told us, Qabisah told us, Sufyan told us, from Musa ibn ‘Ubaydah, from Khalid ibn Zayd, from Muhammad ibn Ka‘b al-Qurazi: "Against itself what it has earned, of evil."

His saying: "And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another."

8187 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj told us, ‘Abdah ibn Sulayman told us, from Hisham ibn ‘Urwah, from his father, he said: ‘Aishah was asked about the child of zina (illicit intercourse)? She said: "No sin of his parents is upon him," and she said: "And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another."

His saying: "Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you"—the verse.

8188 - My father told us, Ahmad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja‘far told us, from his father, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, he said: "He will resurrect them after death, then He will resurrect His allies and His enemies, and He will inform them of their deeds."

His saying: "And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth."

8189 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: His saying: "And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth," as for successors upon the earth, He destroyed the generations and made us successors in it after them.

8190 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, he said: I heard Asbagh ibn al-Faraj say: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth," he said: "He makes a people successors on the earth after a people, and a people after a people."
