Translation · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "A Book has been revealed to you."

8206 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ told us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah: regarding His saying: "A Book has been revealed to you," he said: It is the Quran which Allah revealed to Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

His saying, the Almighty: "So let there be no constraint in your chest therefrom."

8207 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn Salamah al-Bahili al-Tawrani told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Raja’ al-Makki told us, from ‘Uthman that al-Aswad told him, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Ubayd ibn ‘Umayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "So let there be no constraint in your chest therefrom," he said: It means no doubt.

8208 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa’ told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Constraint therefrom," he said: It means doubt. It was reported from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, al-Suddi, ‘Ikrimah, and Qatadah similar to the statement of Mujahid.

His saying, the Almighty: "That you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers."

8209 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Safwan told us, al-Walid told us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "That you may warn thereby," he said: And you know that it is the truth from Allah, so do not doubt it.

His saying, the Almighty: "Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord"—the verse.

8210 - And through the same chain, from Qatadah: Then He said to the believers: "Follow what Allah has revealed to you from your Lord" from the Quran.

His saying, the Almighty: "And how many a city have We destroyed"—the verse.

8211 - My father told us, Ibn Ziyad told us, Sayyar told us, Ja‘far told me, he said: I heard Malik ibn Dinar say: The daughter of al-Rabi‘ said to her father: "O father, why do I see the people sleeping, yet I do not see you sleeping?" He said: "I fear the nocturnal punishment (al-bayat)."

His saying, the Almighty: "And their plea, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: 'Indeed, we were wrongdoers.'"
