8305 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi reported, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ told us, Sa‘id told us from Qatadah regarding His saying: "To fasten upon themselves from the leaves of Paradise," he said: They were joining [the leaves] together upon themselves from the leaves of Paradise.

8306 - It was mentioned from Muhammad ibn Hatim, ‘Ali ibn Thabit told us from Musa ibn ‘Ubaydah from Muhammad ibn Ka‘b regarding: "And they began to fasten upon themselves from the leaves of Paradise," he said: They were taking what they could use to cover their private parts.

His saying, the Almighty: "From the leaves of Paradise"

8307 - Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Ahmasi told us, Abu Yahya al-Himmani told us, al-Nadr Abu ‘Umar al-Khazzaz told us from ‘Ikrimah from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "To fasten upon themselves from the leaves of Paradise," he said: [They were] fig leaves. It was reported from al-Suddi the same.

His saying, the Almighty: "And their Lord called out to them"

8308 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ashkab told us, ‘Ali ibn ‘Asim told us from Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Arubah from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah created Adam as a tall man with a lot of hair on his head, as if he were a towering palm tree. When he tasted the tree, his garment fell from him, and the first thing of him that became visible was his private part. When he looked at his private part, he began to run through Paradise, and a tree caught his hair, so he struggled with it. The Most Gracious (al-Rahman), the Almighty and Majestic, called out to him: 'O Adam, are you fleeing from Me?' When he heard the words of the Most Gracious, he said: 'O Lord, no, but out of shame.'"

8309 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ told us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq reported, ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahrab reported: I heard Wahb ibn Munabbih say: Adam entered into the heart of the tree, and his Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, called out to him: "O Adam, where are you?" He said: "I am here, O Lord." He said: "Will you not come out?" He said: "I am ashamed before You, O Lord."

His saying, the Almighty: "Did I not forbid you from that tree?"

8310 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, ‘Amr ibn Hammad told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "Did I not forbid you from that tree?" Adam said: "O Lord, he swore to me by You, and I did not think that anyone of Your creation would swear by You except as one speaking the truth."
