His saying, the Almighty: "Say: My Lord has commanded justice."

8361 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn ‘Umarah reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas: Regarding His saying: "with justice (al-qist)," he said: with fairness (al-‘adl). It was also narrated from al-Suddi, Mujahid, and Qatadah similar to that.

His saying, the Almighty: "And set your faces [in devotion] at every place of prayer."

8362 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: Regarding His saying: "And set your faces at every place of prayer," to the Ka‘bah, wherever you pray, in a church or elsewhere.

His saying: "And call upon Him, being sincere to Him in religion."

8363 - My father told us, Ahmad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja‘far told us, from his father, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah: "And call upon Him, being sincere to Him in religion. As He began your creation, you will return [to life]." He says: Be sincere to Him in religion just as He began [your creation] in the time of Adam, when He created them with the innate nature of Islam. He says: Call upon Him likewise. His saying: "And call upon Him, being sincere to Him in religion" concerns the matter of sincerity, that they should not call upon any god other than Him, and that they should be sincere to Him in religion, invocation, and deed, then they turn their faces toward the Sacred House.

His saying, the Almighty: "As He began your creation, you will return [to life]."

8364 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas: Regarding His saying: "As He began your creation, you will return [to life]," he said: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, began all creation from Adam: a believer and a disbeliever, as He said: "It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever and among you is the believer" (1). Then He will return you on the Day of Resurrection as He began your creation: a believer and a disbeliever.

8365 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Nu‘aym told us, Sufyan (2) told us, from Abu Yazid, from Mujahid: "As He began your creation, you will return [to life]," he said: He will resurrect the believer as a believer and the disbeliever as a disbeliever.

8366 - Kathir ibn Shihab al-Madhhiji al-Qazwini told us, Muhammad ibn Sa‘id ibn Sabiq told us,
