His saying, the Almighty: "Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world.'"
8399 - Muhammad ibn ‘Amir ibn Ibrahim told us, Abu ‘Amir ibn Ibrahim told us, from Ya‘qub al-Qummi, from Ja‘far, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas: He said: The people of the Jahiliyyah used to circumambulate the House while naked, so Allah revealed regarding them: "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has brought forth for His servants and the pure things of provision?' Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world, [and] exclusively on the Day of Resurrection.'" They benefit from them in this world, and they will not be held to account for them on the Day of Resurrection.
8400 - My father told us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding: "Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world, exclusively...'" He says: It is for those who shared the disbelievers in the pure things, so they ate from its good food, wore its fine clothes, married its noble women, and they will have them exclusively on the Day of Resurrection in Paradise.
8401 - ‘Amr al-Awdi told us, Waki‘ told us, from Ibn Abi Nubayt—meaning Salamah—from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world, exclusively on the Day of Resurrection,'" he said: The Jews and Christians share them in this world, but it is for those who believe exclusively on the Day of Resurrection.
8402 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Safwan told us, al-Walid told us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah, he said: Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world, exclusively on the Day of Resurrection.'" He said: Whoever hastens to belief in this world, the honor of Allah will be exclusively for him on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever abandons belief in this world, Allah will strip from him the honor of the Hereafter, and he will meet Allah having no excuse.
His saying, the Almighty: "Exclusively on the Day of Resurrection."
8403 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-A‘la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma‘mar, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world, exclusively on the Day of Resurrection,'" he said: It is for the believers exclusively in the Hereafter; the disbelievers will not share it with them, whereas in this world, they have shared it with them.
8404 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding: "Say, 'It is for those who believe in the life of this world, exclusively on the Day of Resurrection,'" he said: Allah makes the pure things exclusive in the Hereafter for those who believe, and the polytheists will have no share of them at all.
