8412 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah told us, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Zabalah told us, Ibrahim ibn Tahman told us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding: "the immoralities," he said: Marriage to mothers and daughters. Similar to this was narrated from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr.
8413 - My father told us, Abu Ghassan Malik ibn Isma‘il told us, Qays told us, from Khusayf, from Mujahid: "What is apparent of them and what is concealed"—he said: His saying: "And do not marry those whom your fathers married," and his saying: "And that you combine two sisters [in marriage]."
8414 - It was mentioned from Rawh, ‘Uthman ibn Ghiyath told us, from ‘Ikrimah: "What is apparent of them" is injustice, the injustice of people.
8415 - My father told us, ‘Amr ibn Rafi‘ told us, Ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Yunus, from al-Zuhri regarding: "what is apparent of them and what is concealed"—he said: Nudity, for they used to circumambulate the House [the Ka‘bah] naked.
8416 - al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazyad al-Bayruti informed us, by way of recitation, my father informed me, saying: I heard al-Awza‘i: A man from the people of Medina told me, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding the saying of Allah the Almighty: "Say, 'My Lord has only forbidden immoralities, what is apparent of them and what is concealed'"—he said: "What is apparent of them" is for the sons to marry the wives of their fathers, and combining two sisters [in marriage], or that a woman is married [as a co-wife] over her paternal aunt or over her maternal aunt.
His saying, the Almighty: "And what is concealed"
8417 - My father told us, Ibrahim ibn Musa told us, Hisham ibn Yunus informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, ‘Ata’ said, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "And what is concealed"—he said: Secret [immorality]. Similar to this was narrated from ‘Ikrimah, Qatadah, ‘Ata’ al-Khurasani, al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, and al-Suddi.
8418 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah told us, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan told us, Ibrahim ibn Tahman told us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "And what is concealed"—he said: Zina (adultery/fornication). Similar to this was narrated from al-Zuhri, Mujahid, and Muhammad ibn Qays.
