His saying, the Almighty: "O children of Adam"

8426 - Ahmad ibn Sinan told us, Abu Mu‘awiyah told us, from al-A‘mash, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Khalid al-‘Absi, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mufaddal, who said: A grandfather was mentioned in the presence of Ibn ‘Abbas. He said: "Which father of yours is the greatest?" He replied: "Adam." He said: "Indeed, Allah says: 'O children of Adam.'"

His saying, the Almighty: "If there come to you messengers from among you" [the verse]

8427 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Umar al-‘Adani told us, Sufyan told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: regarding His saying: "If there come to you messengers from among you"—he said: There are no messengers among the Jinn; rather, they are among humans, and the warning (indhar) is among the Jinn.

His saying, the Almighty: "So whoever fears [Allah]"

8428 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, he said: I read to Mus‘ab, Hatim ibn ‘Isa ibn Mahan told us, from al-Rabi‘, regarding His saying: "So whoever fears [Allah]"—he said: All his sin is removed if he fears [Allah] in what remains.

His saying, the Almighty: "And does righteousness"

8429 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr told us, Ibn Lahi‘ah told me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar told me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "And does righteousness"—meaning, the deed.

His saying, the Almighty: "Then no fear will be upon them"

8430 - And through the same chain from Sa‘id: "Then no fear will be upon them"—meaning in the Hereafter. It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan similarly.

His saying, the Almighty: "Nor will they grieve"

8431 - And through the same chain from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr: regarding His saying: "Nor will they grieve"—meaning they will not grieve for death.

His saying, the Almighty: "But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them"

8432 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas: he said: They are the disbelievers whom Allah created for the Fire and created the Fire for them, so the worldly life has departed from them, and Paradise has been forbidden to them.
