His saying the Exalted: 'And they said, "Do not go forth in the heat."'
10503 - My father narrated to us, [who said] Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us, [who said] Sufyan narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from his father, who said: Tabuk was the last expedition that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, fought, and it was the expedition of the heat. They said: 'Do not go forth in the heat.' [Allah] said: 'Say, the fire of Hell is more intense in heat,' and it is the expedition of hardship.
His saying the Exalted: 'Say, the fire of Hell is more intense in heat, if they would understand.'
10504 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed us in what he wrote to me, [who said] my father narrated to us, [who said] my uncle narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas: 'And they said, "Do not go forth in the heat. Say, the fire of Hell is more intense in heat, if they would understand."' This is because the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered the people to mobilize with him, and that was in the summer. A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the heat is intense and we cannot go out, so do not go forth in the heat.' He said: 'Say, the fire of Hell is more intense in heat, if they would understand.'
His saying the Exalted: 'So let them laugh a little.'
10505 - My father narrated to us, [who said] Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, [who said] Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: 'So let them laugh a little and weep much,' [he said]: They are the hypocrites and the disbelievers who took their religion in mockery and amusement. Allah the Exalted says: 'So let them laugh a little' in the world.
10506 - My father narrated to us, [who said] Suwayd ibn Sa'id narrated to us, [who said] Marwan ibn Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Sumay', from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: 'So let them laugh a little,' he said: 'The world is little. Let them laugh in it as much as they wish, and let them weep much; for when the world is cut off and they arrive to Allah, they will resume weeping that will never be cut off forever.'
10507 - My father narrated to us, [who said] Ibn Nufayl narrated to us, [who said] Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Sumay', from Abu Razin regarding His saying: 'So let them laugh a little and weep much,' he said: 'The days of the world are little; let them laugh in it as much as they wish. When they arrive to the Hereafter, they will weep weeping that will not be cut off, and that is the much.'
It was narrated from al-Rabi' ibn Khuthaym, 'Awn al-'Uqayli, al-Hasan, Qatadah, and Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: 'So let them laugh a little,' they said: 'In the world.'
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَقَالُوا لَا تَنْفِرُوا فِي الْحَرِّ
١٠٥٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
كَانَتْ تَبُوكُ آخِرَ غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- وَهِيَ غَزْوَةِ الحر، قالوا: لَا تَنْفِرُوا فِي الْحَرِّ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّا وَهِيَ غَزْوَةُ الْعُسْرَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّا لَوْ كَانُوا يَفْقَهُونَ
١٠٥٠٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا عَمِّي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَقَالُوا لَا تَنْفِرُوا فِي الْحَرِّ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّا لَوْ كَانُوا يَفْقَهُونَ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- أَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَنْبَعِثُوا مَعَهُ وَذَلِكَ فِي الصَّيْفِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، الْحَرُّ شَدِيدٌ وَلا نَسْتَطِيعُ الْخُرُوجَ، فَلا تَنْفِرْ فِي الْحَرِّ، فَقَالَ: قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّا لَوْ كَانُوا يَفْقَهُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلا
١٠٥٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلا وَلْيَبْكُوا كَثِيرًا هُمُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْكُفَّارُ، الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًا، يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلا:
فِي الدُّنْيَا.
١٠٥٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سُمَيْعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلا قَالَ: الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ، فَلْيَضْحَكُوا فِيهَا مَا شَاءُوا وَلْيَبْكُوا كَثِيرًا فَإِذَا انْقَطَعَتِ الدُّنْيَا وَصَارُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ، اسْتَأْنَفُوا بُكَاءً لَا يَنْقَطِعُ أَبَدًا.
١٠٥٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ نُفَيْلٍ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سُمَيْعٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلا وَلْيَبْكُوا كَثِيرًا قَالَ: أَيَّامُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ، فَلْيَضْحَكُوا فِيهَا مَا شَاءُوا، فَإِذَا صَارُوا إِلَى الآخِرَةِ بَكَوْا بُكَاءً لَا يَنْقَطِعُ، وَهُوَ الْكَثِيرُ
- وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ وَعَوْنِ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ وَالْحَسَنِ. وَقَتَادَةَ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلا قَالُوا: فِي الدُّنْيَا.
