a mount. When Allah, the Almighty, saw their keenness for His love and the love of His Messenger, He revealed their excuse in His Book and said: "There is no blame on the weak, nor on the sick," up to His saying: "They turned back, while their eyes overflowed with tears," the verse.
10201 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Nor [is there blame] on those who, when they came to you for you to provide them with mounts, you said, 'I can find nothing to provide you with,'" he said: Two men from the Ansar came, one of them called 'Abd Allah ibn al-Azraq and the other Abu Layla, and they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to provide them with mounts so they could go out with him. He said: "I can find nothing to provide you with." So they wept out of grief that they could not find anything to spend.
His saying the Exalted: "The way [of blame] is only against those who ask permission of you [to stay behind]."

10202 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: Then he mentioned their swearing to the Muslims, and their offering excuses to them, meaning His saying: "They will offer excuses to you when you return to them."
His saying the Exalted: "Do not offer excuses; we will not believe you."
10203 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Say, 'Do not offer excuses; we will not believe you. Allah has already informed us of your news,'" and He informed us that if you had gone out, you would not have increased us except in corruption. "And Allah and His Messenger will see your deeds; then you will be brought back to [Him] who is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed," the verse.
10204 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Muqaddami narrated to us, 'Amir ibn Salih narrated to us from Abu Bakr
مَحْمِلا، فَلَمَّا رَأَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حِرْصَهُمْ عَلَى مَحَبَّتِهِ وَمَحَبَّةِ رَسُولِهِ، أَنْزَلَ عُذْرَهُمْ فِي كِتَابِهِ فَقَالَ: لَيْسَ عَلَى الضُّعَفَاءِ وَلا عَلَى الْمَرْضَى إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: تَوَلَّوْا وَأَعْيُنَهُمْ تُفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ الآيَةَ.
١٠٢٠١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: وَلا عَلَى الَّذِينَ إِذَا مَا أَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ قُلْتَ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ: أَقْبَلَ رَجُلانِ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ، أَحَدُهُمَا يُقَالُ لَهُ: عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَزْرَقِ وَالآخَرُ: أَبُو لَيْلَى فَسَأَلُوا، النَّبِيَّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- أَنْ يَحْمِلَهُمُ فَيَخْرُجُونَ مَعَهُ فَقَالَ: لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ. فَبَكَوْا حَزَنًا أَلا يَجِدُوا مَا ينفقون.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّمَا السَّبِيلُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَسْتَأْذِنُونَكَ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: رَضُوا بِأَنْ يَكُونُوا مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ.
قَدْ تَقَدَّمَ تَفْسِيرُهُ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يَعْتَذِرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ.
١٠٢٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ حِلْفَهُمْ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَاعْتِذَارُهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ، يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ:
يَعْتَذِرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ لَكُمْ.
١٠٢٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: قُلْ لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ لَكُمْ قَدْ نَبَّأَنَا اللَّهُ مِنْ أَخْبَارِكُمْ فَأَخْبَرَنَا أَنَّكُمْ لَوْ خَرَجْتُمْ مَا زِدْتُمُونَا إِلا خَبَالا. وَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ فَسَيَرَوْنَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ والشهادة الْآيَةَ.
