Translation · EN

[His saying, the Almighty: "By which you purify them"]

10303 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "By which you purify them," meaning: by the Zakah, [you purify them through] obedience to Allah and sincerity.

[His saying, the Almighty: "And pray for them"]

10304 - And with the same chain from Ibn 'Abbas: "And pray for them," he says: Seek forgiveness for them.

10305 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us from Asbat from al-Suddi regarding his saying: "And pray for them," he says: Call upon Allah for them.

[His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, your prayer is a comfort for them. And Allah is Hearing, Knowing."]

[The First Interpretation]

10306 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us from Abu Rawq from al-Dahhak from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "a comfort for them," he says: A mercy for them.

[The Second Interpretation]

10307 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "Indeed, your prayer is a comfort for them," he says: Mercy.

[The Third Interpretation]

10308 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid narrated to us from Sa'id from Qatadah regarding his saying: "Indeed, your prayer is a comfort for them," meaning: a dignity for them.

[The Fourth Interpretation]

10309 - My father narrated to us, Rashid ibn Sa'id ibn Rashid al-Maqdisi narrated to us, al-Walid informed us from Sa'id from Qatadah regarding: "Indeed, your prayer is a comfort for them," he said: Security for them.

[His saying, the Almighty: "Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance"]

9950 - (*) Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, who said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam say: The others said: "These people were with us yesterday, they would not be spoken to nor would they be sat with, so what has happened to them?" Then Allah (the Almighty and Majestic) said: "Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and takes the charities?"
