[His saying, the Almighty: "And takes the charities"]

10051 - (*) 'Amr ibn 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, Allah accepts charities and takes them with His right hand, and He nurtures them for one of you just as one of you nurtures his foal or young camel, until even a single morsel becomes like Mount Uhud." The attestation to this is in the Book of Allah: "It is He who accepts repentance from His servants and takes the charities."

10052 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us from Sufyan from 'Abd Allah ibn al-Sa'ib from 'Abd Allah ibn Qatadah al-Muharibi from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, who said: No man gives a charity except that he places it in the hand of Allah before he places it in the hand of the beggar, while he is placing it in the hand of the beggar. Then he recited: "It is He who accepts repentance from His servants and takes the charities."

[His saying, the Almighty: "And that Allah is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful"]

10053 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa al-Damighani narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us from 'Umarah from Abu Zur'ah, who said: Indeed, the first thing He (Glorified be He) wrote was: "I am the Accepter of repentance; I accept the repentance of whoever repents."

[His saying, the Almighty: "And say, 'Work, for Allah will see your work, and His Messenger, and the believers.'"]

10054 - Abu 'Ubayd Allah, son of the brother of Ibn Wahb, narrated to us, my paternal uncle narrated to us, Yunus narrated to us from al-Zuhri, 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me that 'A'ishah used to say: By Allah, I never held the deeds of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) in low regard until the Quran-readers emerged who slandered 'Uthman. They said things we could not say better, they read [the Quran] in a manner we could not read better, and they prayed in a manner we could not pray better. But when I recalled, by Allah, they do not even approach the deeds of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). So, if the fine speech of a person among them impresses you, then say: "Work, for Allah will see your work, and His Messenger, and the believers; and you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."

[And let not any person belittle you]

10055 - Al-Rabi' ibn Sulayman narrated to us, Ibn Wahb informed us, Sulayman ibn Bilal informed us, Musa ibn 'Ubaydah narrated to us from Iyas ibn Salamah ibn al-Akwa' from his father, who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), a funeral passed by, and it was praised. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "It has become necessary."
