Twelve men: Khidham ibn Khalid from the Banu 'Ubayd ibn Zayd, one of the Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf, and from his house he brought out the mosque of dissension; Tha'labah ibn Hatib from the Banu 'Ubayd; Hazzal ibn Umayyah ibn Zayd; Mu'tab ibn 'Ushayr from the Banu Dubay'ah ibn Zayd; Abu Habibah ibn al-Az'ar from the Banu Dubay'ah ibn Zayd; and 'Abbad ibn Hunayf, brother of Sahl ibn Hunayf, from the Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf; and Jariyah ibn 'Amir and his two sons, Mujammi' ibn Jariyah and Zayd ibn Jariyah; and Nabtal ibn al-Harith, and he is from the Banu Dubay'ah; and Bahzaj and Wadi'ah ibn Thabit, and he belongs to the Banu Umayyah, the kin of Abu Lubabah ibn 'Abd al-Mundhir.
His saying, the Almighty: "And as a division among the believers."
10068 - 'Abdullah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, Abu al-'Abbas al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us from Asbat from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And as a division among the believers," he said: The people of Quba were all praying in the Mosque of Quba, but when that one was built, those who used to attend the Mosque of Quba refrained and prayed in it.
10069 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "And as a division among the believers": They divide their congregation, because they used to pray together in the Mosque of Quba, so that all the believers would not pray in the Mosque of Quba.
His saying, the Almighty: "And as an outpost for whoever has warred against Allah and His Messenger."
10070 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us from Ma'mar from al-Zuhri from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr: "And as an outpost for whoever has warred against Allah and His Messenger before"—[that was] Abu 'Amir the Monk. He went to the Levant, so those who built the Mosque of Harm said: "We only built it so that Abu 'Amir might pray in it."
10071 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me from his father from his grandfather from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "And as an outpost for whoever has warred against Allah and His Messenger," meaning: a man who is called Abu 'Amir. He was a warrior against the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and he had left for Heraclius. They were on the lookout, that when Abu 'Amir arrived, he would pray in it, and he had departed from Medina as a warrior against Allah and His Messenger.
