The Third Aspect:
10009 - My father narrated to us, Nasr ibn 'Ali al-Jahdhami narrated to us, Mu'tamir narrated to us from Muhammad ibn al-Haytham from Budayl from al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim regarding: "They would not observe regarding a believer any pact (ill) or obligation (dhimmah)," he said: The dhimmah is the alliance.
His saying, Exalted is He: "They satisfy you with their mouths while their hearts refuse."

His saying, Exalted is He: "And most of them are defiantly disobedient (fasiqun)."
10010 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And most of them are defiantly disobedient," he said: The past generations.
10011 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And most of them are defiantly disobedient," he said: Allah, Exalted is He, condemned most people.
His saying, Exalted is He: "They have bartered with the signs of Allah."
10012 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih from Mujahid regarding His saying: "They have bartered with the signs of Allah for a small price," he said: Abu Sufyan ibn Harb fed his allies and left the allies of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
His saying, Exalted is He: "A small price."
10013 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn Hamzah narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Husayn informed us, 'Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir informed us from Harun ibn Yazid, he said: Al-Hasan was asked about His saying: "A small price," he said: The small price is the world in its entirety.
10014 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bashar narrated to us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us from 'Abbad ibn Mansur from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "A small price," he said: Lies and wickedness.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And they averted [people] from His way."
10015 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us—in what he wrote to me—, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "From His way," he said: From Islam.

وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
١٠٠٠٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ثنا مُعْتَمِرٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْهَيْصَمِ عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكَ بْنَ مُزَاحِمٍ لَا يَرْقُبُونَ في مؤمن إلًا ولا ذمةً قَالَ: الذِّمَّةُ الْحَلِفُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يُرْضُونَكُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وتأبى قلوبهم
بَيَاضٌ لَمْ يُذْكَرْ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
١٠٠١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ قَالَ: الْقُرُونُ الْمَاضِيَةُ.
١٠٠١١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ قَالَ: ذَمَّ اللَّهُ- تَعَالَى أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ.
قَوْلِه تَعَالَى: اشْتَرَوْا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ
١٠٠١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١» قَوْلُهُ: اشْتَرَوْا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا قَالَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ حَرْبٍ أَطْعَمَ حُلَفَاءَهُ وَتَرَكَ حُلَفَاءَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا
١٠٠١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، أَنْبَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: سُئِلَ الْحَسَنُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا، قَالَ: الثَّمَنُ الْقَلِيلُ: الدُّنْيَا بِحَذَافِيرِهَا.
١٠٠١٤ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ ثنا سُرُورُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَوْلُهُ: ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا كَذِبًا وَفُجُورًا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ
١٠٠١٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ- فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ- ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قوله: عن سبيله قال: عن الإسلام.
