The Second View:
10132 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And warn their people," he said: All the people.
His saying, the Almighty: "When they return to them."
10133 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah told us, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad told us, from Ibn Jurayj and Uthman ibn 'Ata' al-Khurasani, from Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "When they return to them," he said: From the military expedition (ghazw).
His saying, the Almighty: "So that they may beware."
10134 - And with the same chain, from Ibn Abbas: "So that they may beware" of what has been revealed after them of Allah's decree, His Book, and His bounds.
10135 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told us, from Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn Abbas, regarding His saying: "And it is not for the believers to go forth all at once," that this is not concerning Jihad (fighting), but rather when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) invoked against Mudar with years of drought, their lands became barren. A tribe from them would arrive in its entirety until they would settle in Medina due to the distress, and they would claim to be Muslims while they were lying. They constrained the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and exhausted them. So Allah, the Exalted in praise, revealed [this], informing the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) [to send them back] to their tribes, and He warned their people not to do as they had done. That is His saying: "And warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware."
His saying, the Almighty: "O you who have believed, fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you."

10136 - My father and Abu Zur'ah told us, they said: Abu Nu'aym told us, Sufyan told us, from al-Rabi' from al-Hasan: that he was asked about al-Sham, the Romans, and the Daylam, and he said: "Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you," meaning the Daylam.

وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٠١٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١»
قَوْلُهُ: وَلِيُنْذِرُوا قَوْمَهُمْ قَالَ: النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ.
١٠١٣٣ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ: مِنَ الْغَزْوِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ.
١٠١٣٤ - وَبِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ مَا نَزَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ مِنْ قَضَاءِ اللَّهِ وَكِتَابِهِ، وَحُدُودِهِ.
١٠١٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عباس قوله: وما كان المؤمنون لينفروا كافة فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ فِي الْجِهَادِ، وَلَكِنْ لَمَّا دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مُضَرٍ بِالسِّنِينَ، أَجْدَبَتْ بِلادَهُمْ فَكَانَتِ الْقَبِيلَةُ مِنْهُمْ تُقْبِلُ بِأَسْرِهَا حَتَّى يَحِلُّوا بِالْمَدِينَةِ مِنَ الْجَهْدِ، وَيَعْتَلُّوا بِالإِسْلامِ وَهُمْ كَاذِبُونَ فَضَيَّقُوا عَلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَجْهَدُوهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُهُ يُخْبِرُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عَشَائِرِهِمْ، وَحَذَّرَ قَوْمَهُمْ أَنْ يَفْعَلُوا فِعْلَهُمْ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ: وَلِيُنْذِرُوا قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينُ آمَنُوا قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُمْ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ.

١٠١٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَأَبُو زُرْعَةَ قَالا: ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ: أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الشَّامِ وَالرُّومِ وَالدَّيْلَمِ، فَقَالَ قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُمْ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَعْنِي الدَّيْلَمَ.
